Let's Thank Wapda For This Tomato, Cheese and Onion Tart.

Hey guyzzzezz. What is uppp? (Triple P, question mark.) It's the weekend again, meaning it's TIME TO BLOG!!!

So we shifted into this new house, that's really pretty. I'll show you my favorite features of the house some other time. But in the first few weeks, we had an extremely messed up routine. Not Miley Cyrus messed up, but you get the idea, right? Every plate packed, the fridge empty, you know the drill, right?

And I know the fix.
Month old puff pastry, week old tomato sauce and an insane obsession with Caramelized Onions. It's cool.

This tart is very French. This tart is very amazing. This tart is silently fatal because of how good it is. That didn't make much sense did it? We're giving credits to Wapda, cause I had barely rolled out my pastry when the light, rather unceremoniously, went out. Sad face. Anyway, here we go!

Puff Pastry rolled out.

A theatrical dollop of homemade tomato sauce.

Spread that goodness like it ain't nothing. So ghetto. So wow.

Caramelized Onionsss. Heaven.

Tomatoes, Cheese and Herbs. And a mandatory cheese doughnut.  Don't worry, I'll guide you through this delicious ordeal.

Straight out of the oven. Here you go. Wasn't too hard was it?

What was hard, was stopping my family from eating so that I could take a 'few' pictures.

Apparently, I failed.

Let's talk about this tart for a while...as if we haven't done that enough already.

The puff pastry is nice and crispy and flaky and other delicious words from the outside, and is slightly soft from the middle. However, I suspect that it would've been flaky throughout had I used fresher pastry. Also, I only had sliced cheese on hand, but any kind will do, and the more the merrier. LOAD IT WITH CHEESE.
It's cool if you wanna eat it straight out of the pan like I did. It happens.

Tomato Cheese And Onion Tart

Puff Pastry (any amount will do)
Tomato Sauce (NOT KETCHUP!!!)
1 medium Onion
1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1 medium Tomato, sliced
Herbs
Cheese
Oil

Okay, so first of all you're gonna caramelize your onions before anything else. Slice up the onion, not too thick. Warm two tablespoons oil in a frying pan, and them add the onions. Cover up the pan, and let them be for around five minutes. Just be sure to check if they're burning: THEY SHOULDN'T BURN!!
After five to six minutes, the onions will start turning flaccid and will be somewhat translucent. Add a dash of Worcestershire Sauce; it will sizzle. Then add the Apple Cider Vinegar. Let the sauces soak up, and then remove the pan from the stove.

Okay. So now you grease your pan with a few drops of oil. I used a square pan. Wish I knew the measurements. Pat your puff pastry gently with a rolling pin, so that it becomes somewhat flat. And then gently roll it, but not too much because you don't want to mess up the layers. Spread it out in your pan with your fingers, lightly. Then it becomes easy. Spread out the tomato sauce (You can use those Ragu Pizza Sauces, or you can whip up your own batch.) Add the Caramelized Onionsss. Add the slices of Tomato. Add the cheese; you can use slices and cut them into strips like I did, or you can grate a whole lot of cheese on top of it. Sprinkle your Herbs. Drizzle a little oil on top, and pop it in the oven.

There's no specific time for this, you just need to keep checking the base of the pastry by sliding a knife under it lifting it up gently. When it turns golden brown, and when the cheese has melted and it looks gorgeous, then you can take it out. But mine took, roughly, around 30 minutes. BUT. Using fresher pastry can result in it being done earlier, so PLEASE KEEP CHECKING IT every ten minutes or so.

And then you take it out. And forget that you were ever civilized. And start eating from the pan. Like I said, it's cool.
Have a great weekend people!
